Holy shit, what a ride!
The last couple days have been awesome and I learned a lot, but yesterday I felt like someone reached into my chest, doused it in petrol, threw a match at it, then catapulted it into outer space!
It was exactly what I needed. The summary of what I learned? I am the only one holding myself back from achieving what I am capable of. I feel freer, lighter, and a little unhinged at the same time hahaha.
This morning, despite feeling a little rough from a couple of celebratory vodka martinis before bed, I woke up possibly even more fired up than I’ve been all week! I immediately started looking at my goals with my fresher, less restricted mindset and picked out one to put into action immediately. It was a business idea that I thought I needed to hold off on until I was more business savvy, and had worked on my technical skills. Fuck that. Time to kick this idea pony in the guts!
Are you wearing your life, or is it wearing you down?
You only get one life, go and get what you want, see what you want to see, and strut that catwalk of life.
So hit the pavement, hit the gym, hit the books, whatever it’s going to take to get there. You better work that life!
Kelly Cutrone is a publicist, author, producer, actress and reality TV star. She built her PR firm People’s Revolution from the ground up, and it’s now thriving in multiple cities.
She knows exactly who she is, and owns it. She follows her gut, and her heart (often against the advice of others) and stands up for what she believes is right without any apologies.
I’ve read that she’s a tough boss, with skyhigh standards, but for those who choose to work hard and take full advantage of their time with her are rewarded with in an invaluable mentorship.
Here are a couple snippets, although I feel they probably don’t do her essence justice!
Who motivates you?
Have a fantastic and productive day!
I know my answer is yes.
Some think their answer to this question is a yes, but when the grind really gets going, they start to backpeddle.
This concept got me thinking today, because I have been soo incredibly guilty of this in the past, and yet right now I find myself in the middle of my busiest time of year, working from before sunrise to after sunset, half out of my mind, teetering on the edge of madness because I’m so tired, and I still know I don’t want to quit. If anything I want more… I just have to figure out how to make that happen.
I know, I know, it doesn’t sound very “healthy”…. You know what else isn’t healthy? Hating your life and where you find yourself, feeling the despair well up in you because you’re sitting in the middle of another social gathering you feel obliged to attend, trying to stop yourself thinking about how unhappy you are with where you life is, and how much work it’s going to take to turn it all around. At least I’m moving forward.
As painfully slow as I feel the progress is, I feel that it is in fact progress, and that I am moving in the right direction, at least for now.
So yes, I can in fact say that I do want it. I am 100% thirsty for success. What’s your answer? What do you want?
Have a fantastic and successful day today!
There’s a reason they say “fake it ’til you make it”. You may have been grinding your ass for months now, but if there’s a part of you that still doesn’t believe that you deserve the fruits of your efforts, trust me, the world can see it.
This is a problem because the only one who truly knows how hard you’ve worked, how much you’ve given up, is you. So if you don’t think you deserve it, why would anyone else?
Maybe you were told your idea was stupid, maybe you were told that you’d never amount to anything of value to the rest of the world, but it’s all noise, and it’s bullshit. So snap out of it.
If you’ve been busting your ass, continuously pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, tweaking the formula day in and day out, why would you not deserve success? Can you actually tell me why you don’t deserve success? Go on, write it out. Write down why you don’t deserve it, and read it back to yourself. Does that make logical sense to you? Probably not.
So go on and hold your head high, wear that crown, and strut through your day like you’re a Victoria’s Secret supermodel. You are the Queen of your world, or at least you’re about to be, and you’ve EARNED IT.
Then get back to work 😉
Have a fantastic day!
I’m always curious when I hear someone say TGIF, as if the weekend will always be the best part of the week.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had good weeks and awful weeks, but I’ve also had rough weekends.
My point is, should we be thankful it’s Friday, or shall we just decide to be thankful for every day, each with it’s own highs and lows, victories and challenges?
I know which option I prefer…
Have a fantastic day!
As much as we might want our goals when we first lock them in and decide to go for gold, sometimes it’s easy to lose track and forget how that hunger felt.
Here are a few ideas to keep that fire stoked:
- Have a routine and hit those goals regularly: Sometimes we’d rather sleep in when we need to get up and workout, or stay out an extra few hours when we have something important to do in the morning. If it’s a habit to hit those goals, you’ll be more likely to just get and do what needs to be done, and once you start you soon start enjoying it!
- Use a vision board: Fill up a board or poster with images that inspire you to keep pushing with your goals, and update and add new images regularly to keep it fresh and exciting!
- Hang around people who want the same things: if you don’t know these people, meet them. If you are having trouble finding them in your neighbourhood, maybe try some groups online!
- Find your mentors: These don’t necessarily need to be people that you actually know, you can follow and be inspired be someone’s career or journey without actually having the chance to meet them!
Have a productive day!
