As I follow my heart to what is undoubtedly a more and more creative calling, a realm of possibility seems to grow exponentially with each step.
The ideas and opportunities really are endless. For the first time in my life I feel like I am only limited by my own imagination and drive (although some of this is possibly also due to my efforts to learn from as much as possible from as many successful people as possible, including their mindset).
Regardless of the why, it is both overwhelming and INCREDIBLY EXCITING! The anticipation is killing me! I am like a pot boiling on high on the stove (almost) unchecked.
I say almost because a girl’s still gotta pay her bills… And unless said girl is particularly good at her chosen practice, it is unlikely she will be able to pay her bills with any profits from it, and need to take time away from their passion to make some moolah. Being the ‘late bloomer’ that I am, I find myself in the unlikely category…. The frustration is soo real but soo common! I get it, there are soo many of us in this boat, creative and otherwise.
Gary Vee says the key to success is patience and hard work. Let’s hope so! Cause I’m all in!
Can you relate? How do you deal with it?
Stay hungry 🖤
It’s official, it was 100% worth all the work to get here. I learnt A LOT today, from several speakers, and met a bunch of people.
It’s soo nice to meet people who just ‘get it’.
They get why I want more, they understand the hunger, why it doesn’t make sense to anyone else, and I don’t have to explain it. They just just know. THANK GOD.
I came away with a bunch of notes with to-do lists scribbled into the margins for after the conference! Although some are easier than others since I was writing in the dark, but hey, all the more reason to get started on actioning them while they’re fresh and I can figure out what I was writing…
At the end of the day, there was a performance by the one and only Flo Rida, but I just couldn’t sit around and listen to music, I’ve done enough of that already… I had a to-do list to tackle! I’ve managed to chip away at a few things, and after writing this entry, I am going to tackle a couple more before doing some yoga and meditation, and getting some decent rest before another epic day.
With Day 80 done and dusted it’s very close to the end of the challenge now! I did get some interest from a potential new weekend employer, so we’ll just have to see how that pans out. It did mean doing a bit of research about the particular niche environment I will be working in, and talking it over before collapsing into bed.
Days where I cycle to work on top of yoga practice really take it out of me physically, especially since I’m usually riding against the wind on the way home… that didn’t stop me from going the long way home to pick up a few things for my researching and practicing!
I find when it starts to get a bit much, that it helps to just look at the piece I’m working on right not… or in the case of a brutal end-of-day cycle ride against the wind, just keeping my eyes a few metres in front of me…
Dig deep! You’re dreams may be just around the corner!
