You can listen to a lot of successful and influential people, and take away little bits from each, but there will always be one or two who really gave you what you needed to start doing some damage to your goals. The rest just created interest.
For me, one of the big players in my current mindset is Tim Grover.
For those of you who don’t know who he is, he spent a large chunk of his career coaching Michael Jordan and a few other big names. He focuses on the performance of your mind, and what it takes to be the absolute best you can be, because at the end of the day your mindset is everything.
His talk at 10X growth con set me on fire. I felt like he reached inside my head and unlocked a hidden door that I didn’t know existed, and I left with a clear head, laser focus, and rearing to go!
At the end of that day I bought a subscription to his online training programme ‘The Relentless System’, and it not only poured fuel on the fire, but has helped me to focus my mental energy, re-evaluate what’s working and not working for me with brutal honesty and act accordingly with zero regret. It taught me to let go of my mental baggage, stop overthinking, and start following my gut. You usually know in your gut what you should do, the rest is usually just noise.
Who are your top coaches? And how are they helping you? If you don’t know yet, keep looking until you find them!
I left fashion school because I didn’t think there was much left in it for me, and I felt like I was creatively STARVING, so it makes sense that I should jump head long in to my next creative adventure!
I want to create amazing over-the-top pieces, so I thought it was only natural to look into some local theater groups… and found one! It also just so happened that they were having a sign up night a few nights after I messaged them, so I got to go and start from the very beginning of the show process with everyone else. Some would say the stars are aligned!
I joined the group thinking that I could be involved with costumes, dressing, makeup and any other backstage bits that need to be done for the show, and may have left with my arm slightly twisted into filling a small role… it is yet to be determined what that will look like…
Regardless of what type of role it turns out to be, I am terrified! But I know I need to get used to the stage if I ever want to perform musically at least! Plus confidence under pressure and on stage never hurt for overall personal development…
The show must go on!
Day 74 just happened to be a public holiday in my region, which is AWESOME, because it meant I got to spend the entire day being creative and still have money coming in.
I spent the day solely on my creative goals, practicing guitar, listening intently to new music and trying to pick out what they were doing, and I stopped in to a second hand clothing shop to nab some items and fabrics that I could start to play with. It is the first time in a long time that I have forgotten to eat… a good sign goals-wise.
I managed to pick up a couple of plain black dresses which I can customize and play with, but what I am most excited about is a red pattered fabric that I can make into something completely my own!
I capped off my exciting and adventurous day with a very rare night out with my partner, to attend a performance called Cirkopolis, a blend of circus arts, theatre and dance, set in the industrial era. Definitely fitting for the theme of the day, and I think my partner appreciated some extra time with me! The hustle comes with sacrifices, but I try to nab extra time where I can. It’s the little things that keep a relationship going!
I hope you’re having a marvelous, fantastic, and successful day today!
